Description

Undo and Redo Actions in the Data Mapper Screen (Magic xpi 4.13)

You can undo the editing operations made in the Data Mapper, like modifications to the schemas, connections, properties (for both schemas and nodes), and colors. You can undo one or more operations and redo the undone changes.

Undo an Action

To undo an operation, go to the Edit menu and select Undo option from the drop-down list. Alternatively, you can configure the Undo button on the Standard Toolbar and use it or press Ctrl+Z until you go back to the desired previous state.

The following actions performed on the schemas are the candidate for the undo action:

  1. Add Schema

  2. Delete Schema

  3. Modify Schema (change schema properties and/or tree of nodes)

  4. Change Schema Color

  5. Move Schema (up/down)

  6. Refresh Schema

Similarly, the actions performed on the Node level which are the candidate for Undo action are:

  1. Modify Node (modify properties not affecting connections)

  2. Modify Expression (change the Calculated Value property)

  3. Modify Condition (change the Condition property)

  4. Change Node Color

  5. Add Connection

  6. Remove Connection

  7. Connect All

After performing the undo action on the node, if the node exists, then the focus will be moved to the closest editable property. If the node does not exist or does not have editable properties, the focus will move to the closest existing node.

Redo an Action

To redo something that you have undone, go to the Edit menu and select Redo option from the drop-down list.

Alternatively, you can configure the Redo button on the Standard Toolbar and use it or press Ctrl+Y until you go back to the desired previous state.

Undo/Redo Lists

The Show Undo/Redo Lists context menu item opens the list of last Undo and Redo commands executed in the Data Mapper. The user can perform Redo or Undo action from the list. To hide the Undo/Redo list click the Hide Undo/Redo lists button.

The Undo/Redo Lists are stored for each open Data Mapper step and the Lists become available when the corresponding Data Mapper document becomes active. Saving the Data Mapper document does not affect the Undo/Redo Lists.

When the user performs one of the editing actions listed above, the action is put at the top of the Undo List, and the Redo list is cleared. When the user performs the undo action from the top of the Undo List, that action is removed from the Undo List and placed at the top of the Redo List.
