Tags Table (Magic xpa 3.x)

The columns in the Tags Table are:

Column

Description

Tag name

Specifies the name of the data element to be matched with a data tag in the HTML template. The tag name is case sensitive. If a template name was explicitly specified for the selected Merge file, you can zoom to select a tag name from the Tag Name list of tags found in the HTML template file.

Name Exp

Defines an expression whose value will be the name of the data element to be matched with a data tag in the HTML template.

Var

Defines a variable whose value will replace the tag. Only a BLOB variable cannot be selected. Zoom to select a variable from the list of variables available.

Exp (variable)

Defines an expression whose value will replace the tag.

Name

Specifies the name of the selected variable or expression.

Picture

Defines the picture to be used when merging the value of either the variable or the expression with the template. The picture will default to either the picture defined for the variable or the default picture of the expression.

The picture value of controls remains the same if the Expression property value changes to another one that has the same attribute.

Exp (picture)

Defines the picture as an expression evaluated at runtime.

Select new tags button

When you click this button, the Variable Tag Names dialog box opens. It contains a list of tag names from your template that do not yet appear in the Tags Table. To add a tag to the Tags Table, click on the # column next to the tag. When the row turns black, you can select it using the Select button. You can select multiple tags using Ctrl+Click.
