Settings (Magic xpi 4.13)

The Magic xpi Settings dialog box provides a central and easy-to-access location where you can manage the following elements of your project:

You can access the Settings dialog box from the Studio and from the deployment environment.

From the Studio you can access it in one of two ways:

  • From the Project menu, select Settings.

  • In the Solution Explorer, right-click on the required project and select Settings from the context menu.

From the deployment environment it is possible to open the editor in a stand-alone mode. This allows you to configure your project externally, without opening the Magic xpi Studio. From the deployment environment you can access the stand-alone Settings dialog box in one of two ways:

  • From the Start menu. Select Start > All Programs > Magic xpi 4.x > Environment Settings.

  • In the <Magic xpi installation>\Runtime\EE folder, click EnvironmentSettings.exe.

The stand-alone editor can only edit resources, services and calendars if the resources.xml, services.xml and calendars.xml files are located in the project's folder.

When accessed as a stand-alone editor, the Settings dialog box also contains an Open Project button in the top left. The first time that you open the Settings dialog box after installing Magic xpi, only the General Environment element is available. To configure a project's settings, click the Open Project button and navigate to the relevant project's ifs.ini file. The Resources, Services, Calendars and Project Environment elements will then also be available. Once you have finished configuring your project settings, click OK. The next time you open the Settings dialog box in this way, the last project that you configured with it will be available by default.

The Settings dialog box works on a per-project basis.

Since version:
