Description

Setting Variable Values – Debugger (Magic xpa 3.x)

In the Variable list, when you park on the Value column of the highlighted variable, you can update its value.

The valid values that may be entered here are defined by the variable’s attribute, picture, and range.

If an invalid value is entered, the value will revert to its original value.

When you update a value from the Value column, Magic xpa will ask whether to perform recompute and acts accordingly. Any value from a table that is updated in this manner will not be written to the database. If one of the fields from that table is written to the database, this value is written as well.

You cannot edit variables of the following nature:

  • BLOB

  • OLE

  • .NET

  • Vector (but, you can use a toggle vector to edit each cell)

  • Buffer

  • Java pseudo reference
