Services (Magic xpi 4.1)

Magic xpi's services enable you to control flow logic and orchestration, the relationship between flows, and the interaction between components in a flow. Magic xpi's main service is the Data Mapper, which is an intuitive, visual tool that lets you transform data from different Sources, in different formats, to different Destinations.

Note that these are different than the services that you set in the Service repository.

You can add the following services by dragging them into a flow:

You add a service to a flow by dragging it from the Components Pane. The Service Configuration dialog box is displayed for the service that was dragged into the flow. For more information, see the explanation for each service.

Note:

You can select Services from the drop-down list at the top of Components Pane. This filters the view to display only the Services.

You can manage service placement in these ways:

  • When you drop a new service on an existing component, the new service is inserted as a child.

  • Press SHIFT and drag the service either to insert the new service as a parent or to replace the existing service or component.

  • You can move a branch of services and/or components. Select the parent model, right-click, select Move branch, and then click where you want to move the branch.

  • You can edit the services configuration by double-clicking the service and changing the entries in the dialog box.

  • You can point to a component and a tooltip opens displaying the component’s properties at a glance.
