Server Modules Installed on IBM i (Magic xpa 3.x)

The module installed under the IBM i Library System is the Magic xpa server library in the QSYS library. This library contains:

  • Magic xpa IBM i Native programs to communicate with the IBM i database files and the OS/400 system

A <Magic xpa server> folder, which contains various files related to the Magic xpa enterprise server for IBM i, can be found in the root folder of the IBM i IFS.

The server module folders under the IFS are:

  • /bin - Magic xpa runtime and gateway

  • /broker - Broker executable files, Mgrb.ini and command line requester

  • /cgibin - Mgreq.ini, requester executables

  • /logs - Installation and gateway logs

  • /etc - Environment and Language files, MGENV400 and MAGIC400.INI files.

  • /install_utils - Installation related files

  • /sbin - Executable files

  • /userproc - User procedures

  • /web_utils - Web utilities

  • /ejb_utils - EJB utilities

  • /language - Language-specific files

  • /lib - Library files for various connections facilities, such as SOAP

Note:

The Magic xpa log file is created for each server instance. The log file name is set via the ExternalLogFileName entry in the MAGIC.ini file. The file path is absolute: /New Library name/logs/LogFileName
