Description

Microsoft Web Server (Magic xpa 2.x)

If you are working with a Microsoft Web server, do the following:

  1. Place the MGrqgnrc.dll, MGrqispi.dll, Mgreq.ini files in the Web server Scripts directory.

  2. Set the Scripts directory to be Executable and Readable.

  3. Under the Server tab in the Environment dialog box set the HTTP Requester environment setting to the following format:

    http://your server address/scripts/MGrqispi.dll

Substitute your actual server address after //.

  4. Restart your Web server.

Note:

  • It is recommended to use the ISAPI requester when using the Microsoft IIS Web server and the CGI requester for other Web servers, such as Apache.

  • You can define your own directory with a different Web alias, set the directory to Executable and Readable, and place your files there. The Magic xpa installation process simply creates an alias to the Magic xpa directory where the required requester files reside.

Windows 2003

When using Windows 2003 as a Web server, the IIS version is 6. This version has several new features; one of them is called Web Service Extensions. General information about this can be found on the Microsoft Website.

In most cases, the ISAPI requester is used. When IIS 6 is used, a Web service extension must be configured for the requester; otherwise an error message will appear once the requester is accessed.

For more information, see the Allow the Magic xpa ISAPI on Windows 2003 IIS 6 Technical Note.
