Description

Magic xpa Internet Requester for IBM i Considerations (Magic xpa 3.x)

You can direct the Magic xpa Internet Requester to the Magic xpa broker by entering the Broker address and port number in the MessagingServer setting. This setting is in the Mgreq.ini file located in the IBM i IFS folder/magicrunxx/cgibin. The default value for the Port setting is 3001.

If your Magic xpa broker is loaded on a different server, you should define this setting with the server name and port number, such as MessagingServer=server_name/3001.

The BrokerPort value in the Mgrb.ini file, of the Broker’s working directory, determines the port your Broker listens to.

Requester Setup – The Mgreq.ini File Location

You must ensure that the Magic xpa Server and the Magic xpa Requester use the same Messaging Server configuration. The Magic xpa CGI Requester looks for the location of the Mgreq.ini file in the MGCGIREQ data area in the server library. The Magic xpa Server looks for this file in the working directory defined in the IBM i environment.

The Mgreq.ini file should be located in the Magic xpa Internet Requester’s directory, QOpensys/MAGICRUNxx/cgibin, or according to the propre Web server definitions.

To change the Mgreq.ini file, enter the CFGMGCSVR command and select Work with Objects from the IFS Utility menu.
