Log Information for IBM i Middleware Components (Magic xpa 3.x)

For log information about IBM i middleware components, you can define the EASYCOM Log (EAC_LOG) keyword for the IBM i DBMS parameters in the Magic.ini file. This will create a Magic xpa log trace file on IBM i, as shown below:

EAC_LOG = [Library/File:Detail] (Detail: 0=No log, 1-4 = increasing log level)

For example, EAC_LOG=QGPL/MGLOG:4

This file is used by developers to search for problems in the log process.

Notes:

  • The EAC_LOG keyword slows the performance of the gateway.

  • Add the keyword Msg=1 to the EASYCOM.INI file to get EASYCOM messages on the client side.
