A few of the many advantages of using the IBM i enterprise server are listed below:

  • Remote, browser, and batch programs can run directly on IBM i.

  • Magic xpa's program logic can run on a Windows client or on an IBM i (Native) client

  • Multiple jobs can run simultaneously

  • Workstations are free when running batch jobs

  • Ability to access IBM i database files, programs and functions:

  • Access DB2/400 DDS (ISAM) files and DB2/400 SQL tables from a local or remote IBM i server

  • Calling IBM i legacy programs such as RPG, and COBOL programs from a local or remote IBM i server
