How to Use the XML Interface (Magic xpi 3.x)

XML configuration lets you send the configuration parameters in XML format using an XML interface in the step configuration.

To work with the XML interface:

  1. Drag the component into the Flow Editor.

  2. Select XML from the Interface drop-down list.

  3. When you click Configuration, Magic xpi opens the Data Mapper’s Source/Destination Management dialog box. The Destination side contains the component’s XSD. You can select a Source that contains the configuration data that you want to map to the component’s XSD.

  4. Click Map to map the Source to the component’s XSD. The following sources can be used to pass the configuration information:

  • Database

  • ODS and UDS

  • Variables

  • Flat Files

  • XML files

  1. Click OK to confirm the configuration. You should make a note of the location of the generated files.

You can also enter the configuration information by entering a Calculated Value.
