How Do I Make Some Controls Have the Same Height or Width? (Magic xpa 3.x)

To make your controls line up neatly on the form, you often need to make them the same height or width. For instance, if the text prompt for a field is a different height than the field itself, the two will not look even, even if they are aligned at the top or bottom.

The easiest way to make controls have the same size is to use the maximum/minimum commands.

For Output forms:

These are available on the overhead menu and in the upper right corner of the command menu.

When you select two items and align them to the left for example, the alignment will be to the minimum left value of the two controls.

For Display forms:

These are available on the toolbar or from the Format menu’s Make Same Size options.

When you select two items and align them to the left for example, the alignment will be to the left value of the first selected control.
