HTTP Server Setup (Magic xpa 3.x)

You should run the IBM HTTP Apache Web server for browser-based applications, on IBM i, when using the Magic xpa enterprise server.

The Mgreq.ini file, which is used by Apache, is located in the same directory where the Magic Internet Requester program, mgrqcgixx, is located.

When running the HTTP server on IBM i, you must configure the items listed below:

  • TCP/IP Protocol - For more information, see the IBM publication, TCP/IP Configuration and Reference SC41-3420-04

  • HTTP Server

  • Directory mapping for HTML resources used in your application, such as GIF files, HTML files, JPG files, Java Applets, and ActiveX controls

  • CGI mapping to the MGRQCGI program in the Magic xpa for IBM i Server library

  • Directory mapping for files created by the Magic xpa server, such as Java Form Property files, and blobs extracted from the database

  • Post method enabling
