Flow Components (Magic xpi 4.7)

Flow components have connecting, adapting, converting, and processing capabilities.

The available components are displayed in the Toolbox pane.

You can use Magic xpi flow components to connect to third-party products and enable integration in your organization. Flow components provide fundamental connectivity functionality and are highly customized to achieve the required integration functionality. Flow components enable integration with standard industry applications or products, such as Middleware, ERP, and CRM products.

Before using a component, you should first define a relevant resource in the Settings dialog box's Resources section. If you are going to use a component as a trigger, you should first define the relevant service in the Settings dialog box's Services section. There are a number of components that do not have a corresponding service or resource; in these cases, you would skip this step.

Components are provided for use in your flows in the following ways:

  • Out-of-the-box: These are components supplied with Magic xpi. You only need to configure these components for your specific integration project environment. Each component has its own configuration program and/or Toolkit so that you can customize the flow component according to project requirements. See the Magic xpi Component Series.

  • Self-developed: These are components that you can develop for use in your integration project. You can develop your own components using Magic xpi's Connector Builder. You can also develop your own components using any 3GL and then introduce the component to the Editor.

  • New out-of-the-box components are continually added to Magic xpi.

  • Magic xpi's standard components are located under the Runtime\ifclib directory.

  • All components in the Runtime\ifclib directory are installed when you install the Magic xpi Server.
