Editing of Fields (Magic xpa 3.x)

The editing operations for fields are:

Changing Logical Variable Content

A logical variable can only have a True or False value. In Magic xpa, by default, a logical variable is False.

To change a logical variable's value, you only have to type the first letter (T – for True, F – for False). When you exit the variable (move off the field), Magic xpa will automatically complete the value.

Cut and Paste

The Copy, Paste, and Cut operations in Magic xpa can only be used on text and not on objects.

Copy – This operation copies marked characters to the clipboard. To copy text, select Copy from the Edit menu or click Ctrl+C. This operation also cuts marked characters to the clipboard.

Paste – This operation pastes copied text at current cursor position.

  • To paste text, select Paste from the Edit menu or click Ctrl+V. The type of text you are pasting must be identical to that of the field into which you are pasting it.

  • To paste text to a field, select Paste from the Edit menu.

Select All

Highlights the entire contents of a field. You can invoke this operation by selecting Select All from the Edit menu or by pressing Ctrl+A.

Undo Editing

Cancels any changes to a field. This option is only available before leaving the field. Before you leave the field, select Undo Editing from the Edit menu or Alt+backspace to restore the field's original contents.

Wide

Expands or widens the current field to its full width. This option is available only in non multi-line String fields. You can invoke the Wide operation by selecting Wide from the Edit menu or clicking F6.

When the field you are parked on is in Wide display, meaning that the field is expanded to show the full text description of the product, the Mode Indicator in the message line displays Normal. To return to normal display press F6 again. The Mode Indicator displays Wide.

Zoom

Zoom allows the end user to "drill down."

The most common usage of the Zoom operation is a Selection list.

You can invoke the Zoom operation by selecting Zoom from the Edit menu or by pressing F5.

When the field you are parked on can be zoomed to, the status line displays Zoom.
