EJB Component Builder Wizard (Magic xpa 2.x)

Magic xpa lets you create EJB components using your existing programs. The Component Builder generates and packages the modules you want to deploy in a J2EE environment, and saves them in the form of a .jar file. This file will contain all the required modules that the bean needs to operate, including class files and Deployment Descriptor (DD) files.

When you create an EJB using the component builder you can only select batch programs. Models, data sources and other objects that you can normally include when building a Magic xpa component are not available. These objects are only available internally, when a program is invoked.

Use of the Magic broker is optional. If you make the broker active, it can be used to query the status of the enterprise servers, to load new enterprise servers, and to terminate existing enterprise servers.

You can access the EJB (Enterprise Java Bean) Component Builder Wizard by selecting Interface Builder from the Options menu.

The Magic xpa Single User Edition does not support the EJB Component Builder.

The EJB Wizard lets you:

  • Create or modify an EJB component

  • Add or delete programs and arguments to/from an EJB component

  • Select from a list of J2EE application servers to define the EJB for them

Click Next and the List of EJB Components screen opens.
