Description

Directory Scanner – Configuration (Magic xpi 4.13)

The Directory Scanner component lets you monitor a folder or folders on both local and FTP directories, to move, delete, and rename indicated files.

When you place the Directory Scanner in a flow, Magic xpi automatically opens the Properties pane for the component. You should enter the requested information in the Properties pane. Then, double-click or right-click on the component and select Configuration from the context menu to open the component's Configuration dialog box.

  • When working with FTP methods, you should first define an FTP resource in the Settings dialog box's Resources section. If you are going to use an FTP source in the trigger, then you should also define an FTP service in the Settings dialog box's Services section.

  • Magic xpi provides configuration file flags that help you control the behavior of the Directory Scanner component.

  • Magic xpi does not currently support Unicode file names. This means that Magic xpi does not support file names in a language that is different than the language of your machine or if the file name has a combination of languages.

The Configuration dialog box that is displayed depends on whether you use the Directory Scanner component as a trigger or as a step in the flow. When you use a component as a step in a flow, you can select from the following interfaces:
