Description

Database for Sort/Temporary (Magic xpa 2.x)

The name of the database to be used by Magic xpa for creating sort tables or other temporary database tables needed as temporary storage (such as the Direct SQL result table). For example, a fast ISAM database, which uses memory for storage (RAM disk), may be used to provide good performance for sorts, when the original tables are stored in a traditional disk-based database. This name must be selected from the databases defined in the Database repository for this installation. To see the Database list, showing available databases, select Edit/Zoom (F5).

XML databases, DB2 and ODBC cannot be a sort database.

Note that the path specified in the Database for Sort/Temporary setting will only be used if the Location column in the Database repository is blank.

Default: Default Database

Change effective: Immediate

Magic.ini and Command Line name: TempDatabase
