Database Issues (Magic xpi 3.x)

You must have access to a database and database client to run a Magic xpi project. The database that you use in the deployment environment must be the same DBMS (for example MySQL, or Oracle) as the database used in the development environment. The database client can reside on a remote computer, however the Magic xpi internal database tables must be copied directly to the Magic xpi Server. The database table structure, the name of the database, and the names used in the database tables must be the same as in the development environment.

If you are using databases to map data, the databases do not have to be on the same server as the Magic xpi Server. You must map the Magic xpi Server to the same location and the same databases you used in the development environment. See Configuring the Project for more information.
