Creating IBM i Files Using the ISAM Gateway (Magic xpa 3.x)

To create an IBM i file in Magic xpa using the ISAM Gateway:

1. From the Data repository’s Name column, define the Magic xpa data source name.

2. Define the columns for the data source in the Column repository. The field name must not exceed 10 characters.

3. Define the indexes for the table in the Index repository. The index name must not exceed 10 characters. The number of defined indexes appears in the Index column. Each index creates a logical file.

4. Repeat the step above for foreign keys.

5. From the Data Source Name column, define the IBM i file name.
   The maximum length for the IBM i files name is 10 characters.

6. From the Database column, press F5 to select a database.
