Controls Persistency Path (Magic xpa 4.x)

This setting governs the location of the files generated by the runtime Form Designer.

If the path is not defined (default), the files are created in the same folder as the form state persistency file.

  • For Online tasks: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\MSE\<APP GUI ID>

  • For Rich Client tasks: the cache folder

If the path is defined but does not exist, the client will try to create it. If the folder cannot be created then the file will not be created.

Relative paths can be used for Online tasks, where the path will be relative to the project.

You can use the INIPut function to change the location.

Note: This environment setting does not affect the location of the form state persistency file. This is because that the form state persistency file is usually used per user and the runtime designer files can be used for groups of users.

To use this functionality in Rich Client tasks per a group of people, you need to define a shared network path available to the client PCs so that every person in the group will use the same files from the network. In this case, the property will have the value of this folder.

Change Effective: Immediate

Magic.ini and Command Line Name: ControlsPersistencyPath

Since version: 3.1
