Checking the TCP/IP Host Configuration (Magic xpa 3.x)

The Magic subsystem and the EASYCOMD daemon create a Magic xpa environment on IBM i that lets PC clients access DB2/400 files and OS/400 functions.

To check the Magic Subsystem and EASYCOMD daemon on IBM i:

  1. Use the WRKACTJOB SBS (MAGIC QSYSWRK) command. You should see the result shown in the figure below.

  1. If the MAGIC subsystem does not have DEQW status, run the CHGCURLIB MAGIC400 and STRSBS MAGIC commands.

  2. If the EASYCOMD job running under QSYSWRK does not have TIMW status, run the CHGCURLIB MAGIC 400 and STREACD LIB(MAGIC400) commands.
