Built-in Open Query by SQL SELECT Statements (Magic xpa 3.x)
When the SQL Client gateway is installed on your machine, you can use Magic xpa to define the SQL SELECT statement, as described in the procedure below.
Defining the SQL SELECT statement:

Create a new task and select Ctrl+Q.

From the Database field, zoom (F5) to select the SQL database.

Zoom from the Result Database field to select the Result Database. The IBM i Library, QTEMP, is defined as an ISAM database.

Enter a valid SQL Statement.

Click APG to generate the Magic xpa program.
For the Ctrl+Q option, the IBM i table does not need to be defined in the Magic xpa Data repository.
