Broker Components (Magic xpa 3.x)

Various clients can issue requests to a Magic xpa Broker. These clients can take many forms, such as a Magic xpa client, another Magic xpa server, an Internet browser, a Network Computer, or user-written HLL programs.

The Magic xpa Enterprise Server must be installed in order to serve Internet requests. In addition, an HTTP server must be installed and configured to route the incoming Magic xpa Internet requests to the Magic xpa Messaging Server, using a Magic xpa Internet Requester.

Each of the units listed below can run on separate hardware:

  • An HTTP Server together with a Magic xpa Internet Requester.

  • A Magic xpa Broker.

  • A Magic xpa Server. The Magic xpa Server needs to be able to access a file system that is available to the HTTP server. Therefore, it is more convenient to place the Magic xpa Server on the same machine as the HTTP server.

  • Clients, such as Magic xpa, an Internet browser, and HLL.
