Description

Accessing IBM i Database Files (Magic xpa 3.x)

DDS (ISAM) files can be accessed by the Magic xpa ISAM Gateway and SQL tables can be accessed by the Magic xpa SQL Gateway.

In addition to using Magic xpa to access IBM i database files or tables, there are other IBM products you can use:

  • IBM i Operations Navigator – a new GUI tool that works with the IBM i system and its database objects

  • Native SQL Interface STRSQL – an STRSQL command via the 5250 emulator interface

  • Native IBM i Command – a UPDDTA command via the 5250 emulator interface
